MAGNATA CARE HAMPSHIRE LEAGUE

LEAGUE HISTORY

The League was sanctioned by Hampshire Football Association in 2004 following various Clubs leaving the then Hampshire Football League to join the Wessex League when that League wished to start up a 2nd Division and then Combination divisions. This League has been operating for six years with both Clubs that did not join the Wessex League and new Clubs. In 2007 a new League called the Hampshire Premier League was established to cater with Clubs leaving the Wessex Combination Leagues and in 2008 Hampshire Football Association designated this League the Counties Step 7 feeder League.

The Football Association have over the past two/three years been looking at other Leagues that are outside of Step Seven but may be eligible to be a Step Seven League. This League was invited to a FA seminar and subsequently has made an application to be a Step Seven League. This is the sixth season of the League and we welcome two Clubs back into the League; Botley Village FC and Upham FC; and one new Club Warsash Wasps FC .The League were sorry to loose Ludgershall Sports FC and Twyford FC during the season - both through suffering from lack of players apparent interest in travelling.

This year, as you can see, we are pleased to annouce a three year Sponsorship with Magnata Care Limited, a Basingstoke based Company; and we look forward to a happy association over this period of time.
